• A division of the Lithuanian Librarians’ Association (LLA) functions in the Library
• At present there are 42 members in the division
• Gintare Napriene, Senior Librarian of the Reading Rooms Department,
  has been elected as Head of the LLA division for 2004-2006.

What Is LLA Division?

It is a voluntary and independent public professional librarians’ organization the activity
of which is governed by laws of the Republic of Lithuania and the Articles of Association.

Principal Aims:

1. To unite LLA members to form an organization, to represent their professional interests.
2. To develop librarianship, to promote the librarians’ role in the society.
3. To stimulate scientific research work in this field.
4. To improve professional qualification of LLA members, to raise their professionalism.
5. To prepare proposals for library work improvement for the Government of the Republic of Lithuania and local authority bodies.
