1. THE READER'S CLUB
- This club has been functioning since February 2005
- The motto of the Readers’ Club is “Find, read, offer…”
- On the last Tuesday of each month the Readers’ Club meets to discuss a topical book which was of great interest or which got certain reaction from the public
- Authors, translators, specialists in literature, book reviewers and other persons who are not indifferent to culture or literature usually participate in the discussion on the books
- Such books as Marlen Haushofer’s The Wall (Die Wand) (2004), Dan Brown’s The Da Vinci Code (2004), Jurga Ivanauskaite’s Placebas (2003), Margaret Atwood’s Orix and Crake (2004), Wilhelm Genazino An Umbrella for Today (Ein Regenschirm für diesen Tag) (2005), Paulo Coelho’s Zahir (2005) and many others have already been discussed in the Club.
2. THE CIVIL DISCUSSIONS CLUB
The Civil Discussions Club invites and encourages everybody to discuss topical themes together with politicians, experts in economy, journalists and connoisseurs of other spheres the last Tuesday of each month.
3. CHILDREN'S CLUB "KODELCIUS"
is functioning where presentations of new children’s books, creation of illustrations for the books read, different performances and excursions around the Library take place.
